I spent 12+ years behind the pine and mostly what I have to show for it is a liquor pallet of an old wise man and the love of a good story thus the Whisky and Weird Podcase escape was born.

Callum spent eight years as a folklore researcher at the University of Edinburgh before deciding that podcasting was more fun than academic publishing. He brings the historical depth, the obscure archives, and an encyclopedic knowledge of Scottish whisky. He believes in ghosts. Mostly.

Mara is a former true crime journalist who got tired of writing about things that were only weird in a depressing way. She brings the narrative instinct, the sceptical eye, and the ability to make a 200-year-old mystery feel like it happened last Tuesday. She does not believe in ghosts. Probably.
