How It Started
We met at a whisky tasting in Edinburgh — two people who couldn't stop talking about the strange footnotes of history that never made it into the textbooks. One of us had a background in folklore research. The other had spent years writing about true crime. We argued about whether the Mackenzie Poltergeist was real until the bar closed, and somewhere in that argument, a podcast was born.
"We're not trying to convince you of anything. We're just here to make sure you never look at a glass of whisky the same way again."
The Voices
Callum Reid
Co-Host & Researcher
Callum spent eight years as a folklore researcher at the University of Edinburgh before deciding that podcasting was more fun than academic publishing. He brings the historical depth, the obscure archives, and an encyclopedic knowledge of Scottish whisky. He believes in ghosts. Mostly.

Mara Sinclair
Co-Host & Storyteller
Mara is a former true crime journalist who got tired of writing about things that were only weird in a depressing way. She brings the narrative instinct, the sceptical eye, and the ability to make a 200-year-old mystery feel like it happened last Tuesday. She does not believe in ghosts. Probably.
